Job Description:

As a Data Privacy Specialist at Jio Platforms Limited, you'll be instrumental in safeguarding personal data and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations throughout the organization. Collaborating with various departments, you'll drive the implementation and enhancement of privacy initiatives, conduct impact assessments, and mitigate risks associated with data privacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and assess the implementation of privacy initiatives across Jio businesses.
  • Conduct data protection and privacy impact assessments for relevant projects, providing guidance on mitigating identified privacy risks.
  • Collaborate with operations and functional teams to ensure comprehension and adoption of data protection and privacy initiatives.
  • Analyse existing operational policies, processes, systems, controls, and training materials to pinpoint areas for enhancing data protection and propose actionable recommendations.
  • Identify legal and regulatory requirements concerning privacy and data protection, translating them into actionable process improvements in coordination with legal and other teams.
  • Develop and maintain a framework for monitoring and reporting ongoing compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Assist in responding to data protection inquiries and support internal privacy and compliance audits.
  • Review privacy impact assessments conducted by business units.
  • Manage day-to-day privacy issues, including responding to data security incidents, resolving privacy complaints, handling subject access requests, and overseeing regulatory notifications and international data transfers.
  • Conduct research and analysis on developments in privacy law.
  • Support in evaluating privacy automation tools and service providers.
  • Stay updated on legislative requirements and conduct gap analysis processes to identify and address ongoing program risks.

Qualifications:

  • Work Experience: 3 to 7 years
  • Preferably holds a B.E/B.Tech/ MCA degree.
  • Prior experience in process or risk assessments, or audits, is preferred.
  • Demonstrable understanding of Privacy and Data Protection, ideally gained in a services environment or digital business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments consistently.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to devise and implement practical solutions to complex legal/regulatory matters.
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, cross-cultural matrix environment.
