Purpose of this role:
This is a full-time on-site role for a QS and Planning Engineer in Xfinity Buildcon located in Hyderabad. Quantity surveyor is responsible for managing and controlling the costs and contracts involved in a project with expert knowledge in cost estimation, planning, Billing and controlling. Verifies on-site measurement & rates with Project specifications and cost. Checks the quantum of work stated in the bill against actual work done.
A planning engineer is responsible for the planning, scheduling and coordination of construction projects.To work closely with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
The role involves developing multi-disciplinary conceptual and definitive cost estimates for a variety of projects. Must have previous all-round experience of item rate billing in reputed Construction Companies with thorough ability to work on computers accurately along with proficiency in Auto cad. Candidate must have thorough knowledge of Work Order clauses & its Interpretation, Direct & Indirect Taxation, Scrutiny of Accounts Ledger, Final Bills Settlement & getting Contract Closure documents signed off.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare multi-disciplinary cost estimates for a variety of medium and large projects using appropriate systems.
- Preparation of measurement sheets and assisting in quantity take-off for tenders.
- To know estimation and costing, Rate analysis, Labor and machinery analysis which enables to carry out billing works at a different stage of construction with proper efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets and other documentation.
- Tender management including preparation of bills of quantities, contract conditions and assembly of tender documents.
- Assist in the estimation of direct costs for tenders.
- Monitors and records site progress and keep records of day works.
- Checks the allocation of manpower and productivity.
- Discuss, coordinate, and resolve estimating input/queries with project team and subject matter experts available in the organization to ensure quality estimate.
- Ensure all assumptions / clarifications are properly documented.
- Analysis of Bill claimed by contractors or vendors and closing of the same.
- Provide support for any selection and optimization study during project development.
- Support project team in identification, evaluation and capture of capital efficiency opportunities and estimate risks.
- Perform cost reconciliation to previous estimates as project develops.
- Perform complete analysis and cost validations using internal and external benchmarking data, historical indices, and component benchmarking.
- Mentor & supports the review of the estimates prepared by other cost engineers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with scope of work.
- Prepare claims in coordination with the Project Manager / Director.
- Follow-up payments.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required standards.
Qualifications
- Degree in B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a recognised industry.
- 5+ years of experience in QS and planning engineer role.
- Experience in quantity surveying, cost analysis, and project planning
- Proficiency in using project management software
- A proven track record in handling residential high-rise Buildings, Commercial and Industrial buildings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and best practices
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
