This is what LifeAtBNYMellon is all about. Position Summary: Leads a global team of category and commodity sourcing leads & negotiators responsible for all needs specific to the category and commodity sourcing. Has responsibility for the assigned categories, which may be global in nature. Leads professional staff indirectly through more junior managers. Develops the sourcing strategy, serves as the primary sourcing contact and is responsible for negotiation outcomes for all categories and commodities. Acts as the senior leader for the teams based in India and point of contact/escalation for India and APAC senior management. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Leads a team of category and commodity sourcing leads responsible for all needs specific to category and commodity sourcing. Leads professional staff indirectly through more junior managers.  Works closely with the head of contracting and sourcing, along with global category leads to develop sourcing strategy and manage sourcing activities. Takes ownership of and is responsible to delivery commercial value while enabling a seamless experience for internal customers and vendor partners. Oversees the implementation of the sourcing strategy, policies and processes for categories and commodities that are supported from the region. Ensures sourcing methodologies are in alignment with the global/regional strategy of the organization.  Ensures all sourcing methodologies are in alignment with the regional and global sourcing strategies. Maintains broad knowledge of all category and commodity sourcing needs specific to different regions and serves as the sourcing point of contact. Is accountable for outcomes resulting from high dollar and/or high risk sourcing negotiations. When needed, will lead the development of standard commodity savings metrics and supplier consolidation and cost reduction policies/ strategies based on recommendations from category owners. Leads sourcing category leads in conducting industry, emerging market, supplier and sourcing methodology research in order to inform and complete supplier selection. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops negotiators & sourcing managers, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to effectively lead their teams.  Ownership of all people related matters concerning the India/APAC teams including recruitment, performance, bandwidth and talent management.  Maintains relationships with global business leaders and senior stakeholders, to ensure sourcing needs are met and managed in accordance with global sourcing policies. A successful candidate would be required to play the role of a change catalyst to drive efficiency and maximized commercial value while balancing global processes and local requirements/nuances. Experience: + years of total work experience, with + years of management experience, preferred. Demonstrated experience managing and leading large, complex projects, extensive knowledge and understanding of global procurement and sourcing processes and practices preferred.
