This position will serve as the subject matter expert to ensure compliance and consistency in adhering to U.S. Government accounting regulations. The position will provide critical insight to the continued efforts around the implementation of CAS (Client Accounting Services) and will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the current accounting systems, policies and procedures across the business unit for compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Additionally, this role will help oversee cost submissions to, and support reviews with, the DCMA and DCAA. YOU MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED SKILLS: Governmental accounting experience with professional services. experience with or for the DCAA, DCMA, FAR, and other Federal regulations. utilizing PIEE operating system. Major Responsibilities: and working knowledge of DCAA, DCMA, FAR, CAS, GAAP and other regulations specific to government contracting for professional services. of GL accounts and preparation of monthly financial statements. of annual budget and monthly comparisons of actuals to budget. interface with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and other government representatives project finance function: earned value management, program forecasting/planning, customer reporting, rate development, reconciliations, system maintenance, etc. lead for DCMA and DCAA audits. and supporting A/R, A/P, payroll activities to ensure accuracy, and timeliness of invoice entry. to roll up sleeves and do the work vs. manage. liaison with all departments to ensure ongoing communications in all areas. accounting-related entries to numerous registers, journals, and logs, including check register logs, transactions journals to insure reconciliation of accounts. and submitting state excise and sales and use tax returns. and ensure ERP compliance with government standards. duties as required. Qualifications and Requirements: in Accounting, Finance, or related field. years of finance/accounting experience with US Federal contracting for professional services. have experience working in a government contractor accounting environment with an understanding of FAR/DCAA/DCMA standards. willingness to roll up sleeves to and do the work vs. manage while building out the function. oral and written communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to cultivate critical inter- and intra-departmental working relationships, foster an environment of cooperation and trust, and effectively meet deadlines while providing a high level of customer service. be well versed in the regulations around the Cost Accounting Standards and application to comply with these standards. with government accounting software, such as Procas, is desirable. understanding of U.S. GAAP and IIA Standards operational capability and sense of urgency to drive completion and achievement of annual departmental initiatives. be extremely detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
