Job title: Buying Assistant Location: Gurgaon About noon noon, the region's leading consumer commerce platform. On December 12th, 2017, noon launched its consumer platform in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, expanding to Egypt in February 2019. The noon ecosystem of services now includes marketplaces for food delivery, quick-commerce, fintech, and fashion. noon is a work in progress; we’re six years in, but only 5% done. noon’s mission: Ring every doorbell, everyday. As a Buying Assistant, you'll serve as a liaison between suppliers and other departments, monitoring market trends, negotiating contracts, and building strong supplier relationships. With a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills, you'll ensure smooth operations, efficient payments, and optimal product visibility to meet customer needs and enhance profitability. Some of the key responsibilities are : Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments in the buying processes and new projects and activities Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization Identifying customer preferences, monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships Visit the market to research products & study market trends. Use the market visits to also add more suppliers to the base. Work with the content & merchandising teams to ensure the best visibility for the products procured. Ensure all reconciliations are done within the planned time for smooth payments. What you’ll need: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Category or a similar field 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role Highly detail-oriented with proven strong business sense Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities. Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets. Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the customer order fulfilment as well as profitability. Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations. Keen attention to detail and accuracy. Who will excel?
