Job Overview/Role of the candidate:We’re looking for a professional engineer with focus on capacity management responsible for managing and optimizing the capacity and resources of an organization to ensure it meets its operational requirements efficiently. Knowledgeable around public clouds (like AWS, OCI, GCP) and colocations (internal Infrastructure regions).Your Primary Responsibilities: As a Staff Specialist DevOps Engineer with focus on capacity management, ensuring that an organization's resources are efficiently and effectively managed to meet current and future demands. Also preventing both overcapacity and resource shortages, ultimately contributing to the organization's overall success and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities include capacity planning, forecasting and recommend solutions which will help to maintain the customer environments.•Assess, review, forecast and monitor capacity and resource utilization aspects of infrastructure for Colo and Public Cloud (OCI, AWS, GCP).•Generate weekly, monthly reports for Infrastructure audits to keep track of the current utilization trends and identify potential bottlenecks and recommend solutions to address them.•Create and maintain capacity plans to ensure resources (e.g., infra) meet demand.•Work with ticketing system (like Remedy, Jira) to submit tickets and follow-up on them as well as change tickets until completion.•Work on creating ad-hoc reports for team and stakeholders using MS Excel, Word, Power Point and Pivot tables as needed.•Recommend improvements to processes and workflows to enhance efficiency.•Use statistical and analytical tools to identify trends and patterns.•Develop optimization opportunities and recommend solutions based on performance data collected from BMC tools like HCO, Discovery.•Collaborate with various departments and teams to gather information and share capacity planning insights. •Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including management, to present capacity plans and recommendations.•Work on creation of SOPs, documents and maintain documentation of capacity plans, resource allocation, and relevant processes.Required Skills:•Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience •5+ years’ experience working with public clouds (AWS/GCP/OCI) and colos (VMware) •Knowledge of statistical analysis and forecasting methods.•Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, like Excel, and specialized capacity planning software.•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.•Attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets.•Excellent communication and presentations skills.•Should be willing to work on 12.30PM to 9.30PM IST shift.Desired (Good to have skills):•Experience working with Apptio products like Cloudability or HCO•ITIL certification•Knowledge about Python and PowerShell languages
